Miniature Tabletop Wargaming

I enjoy miniature wargaming particularly Warhammer 40K and Warhammer. I am currently building an Aeldari Wraithguard army and a Deathrattler army.  I also am interested in collected miniatures for Dungeons and Dragons  more so to model with miniature scenery than for using in role playing games. 

I am getting involved with Battletech.

I no longer play RPG's however I do have a history of Dungeon Mastering and Game Mastering.  I was an avid Dungeon Master in my teen years and briefly  in my young adult years.  I was a Dungeon Master  for Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 1st edition and 3rd edition.  

I also was a Game Master for Robotech in the 1980's.  

I tried Traveler and Heroes Unlimited for a very short time but never really got into those RPG games.

For fun I developed a role playing system for my LEGO space models.

I have always enjoyed food.  When I was young I could eat without ever gaining any weight.  I had a bottomless appetite.  My favorite restaurant was Uncle Willy's back in the 1980's.  It was a buffet.  In the 1990's I began going to the Langar in Sikh temples.  The food was very good, all you can eat and free.  It really helped to offset my food budget.  My favorite snack food is honey garlic chicken wings with a bit of heat and a side of blue cheese dressing.  My favorite cuisines are Mediterranean and sushi.  I am not a fan of sweets although I have been known to go to local bakeries and buy various European pastries.  I am more of a meat and potatoes fan.   I do not eat pizza with tomato sauce even though I really enjoy it.  My favorite soup is home made cream of mushroom soup that is very thick and loaded with chunks of mushrooms alongside garlic bread.

My favorite themes of reading are theology, mythology, ancient history and psychology.  I enjoy fantasy and science fiction.  In my younger years I read some of the classic novels such as Fahrenheit  451, Day of the Triffids, Ten Little Indians, Banner in the Sky, Chrysalids, 1984, Brave New World and Lord of the Flies.  I like science fiction novels although I prefer them from the 1990's era and prior.  I collected the Rama series and Star Trek:TNG novels.  For fantasy novels I primarily read Dungeons and Dragons novels however when I was in elementary school I was very interested in Choose Your Own Adventure books and books that required two six-sided dice to play by Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone.  I also owned and read the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons Guide books from the age of 12.  My favorite book is the dictionary.  In scripture, my favorite book is Proverbs.  

I don't read for the purpose of acquiring new knowledge instead I read to enhance my imagination.

Many years ago I really was interested in building miniature terrain and scenery for tabletop wargaming.  I built buildings, trees, hills and other scenery strictly from my imagination and with construction and hobby craft materials.  I really enjoyed it.  I bought some rubber molds from Hirstarts and made other kinds of miniature buildings using Plaster of Paris.  It has been quite a while since I have made anything however I have been stocking up on supplies to start building again.  As a side-note  I was really into LEGO when I was very young.  I built some amazing structures and had endless space wars.  LEGO was my passion next to RPGing.

Music I currently listen to are 1980's soft rock, old country from the 1980's and 1990's primarily.  I listen to some contemporary Christian artists out of nostalgia.

I do not enjoy hot sunny days.  I prefer stormy, chaotic, tempestuous weather.   I love the sound of thunder and  watching lightning strikes.  Heavy rainfall and snowstorms are my favorite.   I am a pluviophile.  I love blustery windy days.  Cool weather is my desired temperature.  My favorite place to go for a vacation would be the Falkland Islands.

Yes, I do enjoy PC gaming however not the current games.  I got into PC gaming back in the 1990's.  My all time favorite PC game is Civ2.  Other games I really like are Warcraft 2, Diablo 2, Age of Empires I and II, Transport Tycoon, Age of Wonders, Master of Orion (original), Simcity2000, Zoo Tycoon, Tie Fighter, X-com series and a few other strategy games from those years.  

I have grown up with animals all of my life.  Everyone in my family has animals.  I have been around chickens, dogs, cats, a tarantula, exotic birds and fish.  I like horseback riding although I have not done it for decades.  I used to volunteer work at horse stables many  years ago.

Chess is also one of my favorites. My favorite board game is Axis and Allies, 1980's edition.   Carcassonne and Eurorails are two other games I really enjoy.  I have played Shogun in the very distant past.  I enjoy playing board games and learning new ones - the more complicated the more I like them.

Going out to restaurants for a nice expensive meal is fun for me.  I do not go to movies and I do not watch television.  The most recent movies I have seen are Rogue One and IT (both 1 and 2).  Aside from these I do not watch anything other than youtube videos.  I prefer more creative forms of entertainment such as wargaming, miniature terrain and scenery building, LEGO.  I prefer my entertainment to be meaningful.  Watching  television and movies is just boring for me.  I prefer interactive and social entertainment.  

I enjoy going to parks and local beaches around Vancouver.  My favorite beach is Spanish Banks.
